Supervisors

Dr. Gail Heyman

Professor, UC San Diego

Dr. Gail Heyman studies social development and learning in children and adults. She is the director of the Social and Cognitive Development Lab (SCDL). She has been a Professor at UC San Diego for over 20 years.

Dr. Tal Waltzer

Postdoctoral Researcher, UC San Diego & UC Santa Cruz

Dr. Tal Waltzer is a researcher who studies moral reasoning and cognitive development, and is currently a National Science Foundation (NSF) Postdoctoral Scholar working at UC San Diego. You can learn more about Dr. Waltzer here.

Research Assistants

Sarah Segall

Sarah is a fourth-year undergraduate student at UC San Diego majoring in Psychology and minoring in Computational Social Science. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, arts and crafts, and playing pickleball.

Christina Matteson

Christina is a fourth-year undergraduate student at UC San Diego majoring in Business Economics and Cognitive Science. In her free time she enjoys painting, listening to podcasts, and reading.

Nejra Hojic

Nejra is a senior at the Alameda Science and Technology Institute. She hopes to pursue a degree in neuroscience. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing card games, and drinking tea.

CJ Perral

CJ graduated from UC San Diego with a BS in Clinical Psychology. In her free time she loves reading books, knitting, and listening to music.

Marci Bishop

Marci is majoring in clinical psychology with a keen interest in conducting research focused on children in this field.
